Our Master’s in Higher Education online is a 36‐credit program that spans the educational landscape with an emphasis on student affairs. From counseling to administration to enrollment management, this degree is more than a resume builder; it’s a skill builder. Develop as a communicator and mediator to provide counsel to students. Learn what leadership style works best for you, and apply those principles immediately in the workplace. Study the inner workings of higher education and the role advisors, administrators and enrollment managers play.

Choose from two concentrations:

  • Conflict Resolution – The uncertainty of the college experience calls for guidance. Learn to analyze, address, mediate and manage conflict in any higher education setting.
  • Enrollment Management – More than 4,000 colleges and universities across the nation utilize enrollment personnel. Gain a deeper understanding of enrollment marketing, admissions strategy, financial aid and student retention practices.

You can add to your professional value with two graduate certificates.

  • Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution – Improve as a communicator and build essential skills in critical thinking and reconciliation. Offered as an add‐on to your master’s or as a stand-alone 15-credit certificate.
  • Graduate Certificate in Enrollment Management – Equip yourself with the tools to provide influential service to students at colleges and universities. Offered as an add‐on to your master’s, or as a stand‐alone 12-credit certificate.

Professional Development Residency:

The residency requirement for the online higher education degree is a four‐day professional development program on ACU’s campus. It combines social and networking opportunities with your faculty and peers for professional development. It is offered once a year during the summer.

Our online Master’s in Higher Education is a 36‐credit program composed of 11 courses that you can complete in as few as 18 months. It combines theory with real‐life simulations for a truly comprehensive approach to higher education. You can learn to adapt your approach based on your school’s philosophy and culture and your students’ individual goals. Jason Morris, Ed.D.

Dr. Jason Morris is an associate professor of higher education, director of the master’s program in higher education and dean of the ACU Honors College. He is a Fulbright Scholar and spent time in Hungary researching and lecturing on educational access in the United States and Europe and comparative studies in higher education. He has also worked with the TRiO programs at ACU, which reach out to underrepresented student groups in the U.S.
