To be admitted into the Master of Arts or Certificate in Conflict Resolution programs, you must:

  • Complete the ACU Graduate School application
  • Pay the $50 application fee
  • Submit official transcripts of all undergraduate work
  • Have completed your bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university with a GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Submit two Graduate School recommendation forms, indicating readiness for graduate study
  • Submit a purpose statement (two pages, double spaced) describing your desire for entering the program and future career plans
  • Submit a current resumé

*Transfer credits are not accepted for the graduate‐level Conflict Resolution programs.

Students are required to go through a pre‐application interview before submitting an application for admission.

  1. 1Students will also incur airfare and hotel expenses related to their travel and stay during the residency. These expenses are contingent upon the student’s location as well as airfare and hotel rates at the time of scheduling travel arrangements.
  2. 2Total based on current tuition rates, credit hours and fees as shown. In addition to tuition and fees noted, you can anticipate spending $100-$200 per class for textbooks. Specific details on course materials will be provided prior to registration. All fees subject to change.

Organizational Partnerships

Abilene Christian University has partnered with specific organizations to offer a 10% tuition scholarship and no application fee for their full-time employees and their immediate family members who enroll in certain online graduate programs. Military Education Benefits at ACU

Abilene Christian University is proud to support those who serve our country and is committed to helping service members and veterans achieve their education goals. As a military‐friendly university, ACU offers a variety of ways for you to finance your education. The online graduate programs at ACU can help you realize career‐advancing opportunities while you serve in the armed forces. We offer two starting points during each of the fall, spring and summer semesters to better align with your availability. There are no GRE or GMAT requirements to enter the programs and you also enjoy the flexibility of learning online, allowing you to log in any time of day, no matter where you live or are stationed.

New students are encouraged to begin the veterans benefits application process at least six to eight weeks prior to the term start date, as the initial application for military veterans/reservists certification can take longer than expected.

How do I qualify for the Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation programs?
To be eligible for admission to the master’s or certificate program, you must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited university and meet admission requirements. Please see the admissions requirements for full details.
How do I apply?

What types of jobs do students find upon graduating from the Conflict Resolution & Reconciliation programs?
Graduates can enjoy a career in any area from the conflict resolution program such as business, education, counseling, law enforcement, social services and ministry.
Do I need to take the GRE?
No, the GRE or other standardized tests are not required for admission to the program.
Will my diploma say “online” degree?
No. You will receive the same degree and diploma as students who complete programs on ACU’s campus.
How much time is required to complete this program?
This program may be completed in as few as two years. This program is designed for working professionals who must keep up with the demands of work and home. Most students require 12‐15 hours of study per week. Your facilitator will help keep you on track.
When can I start the program?
You may enter the program six times per year. We have two starting points during the fall, spring and summer semesters.

Do you accept transfer credits or grant credits based on work experience and certifications?
No, ACU does not accept transfer credits for the online Master’s or Certificate programs in Conflict Resolution.
What financial aid options are available?
Federal financial aid may be available to students who are U.S. citizens or permanents residents. Students are always encouraged to seek tuition assistance from their employers first and coordinate the balance with financial aid. For some programs, we also accept VA benefits such as the Montgomery GI Bill as tuition payment.
